Hunger <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In\n my research, I have found a correlation between malnutrition and the \ncognitive development of young children. Hunger is a major problem in \nthe US, and as I work in my practicum, I am witnessing it first-hand. As\n a future teacher, this is something that will affect how I approach my \nstudents and how I teach them. To introduce my topic, I have included \nsome recent facts and statistics about hunger within the state of Oregon\n as well as the nation. Next, I will discuss both the internal and \nexternal outcomes of hunger in the classroom, such as student \nperformance and behavior. The bulk of my information will be focusing on\n the effects that malnutrition has on the brain \u2013 how the brain \nfunctions and looks when it is malnourished compared to how it looks and\n functions normally. I plan on ending my presentation with a few \nsolutions that teachers can do to help solve the issue of hunger within \nthe classroom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
