However, the use of different forms of positive reinforcement for different grade levels is essential, because individuals tend to respond more positively when given the form of positive reinforcement that best fits their classroom culture or grade level. In this study, we explored affective forms of positive reinforcement for elementary, middle, and high school levels. Included are examples of ways to use positive reinforcement in the classroom without it being mistaken for an incentive.
