Breaking the Silence as Female Minority Writers<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Historically, female minority authors have struggled with finding their voice in a society that forces their silence. Language has given these authors the ability to assert a place in history and define their identity and experience as both persons of color and women. Toni Morrison\u2019s The Bluest Eye and Sandra Cisneros\u2019 The House on Mango Street demonstrate how powerful an author\u2019s voice can be when they are able to record the experiences and history that has been excluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
