The Significance of \u201cPaidofthoros\u201d within Second-Century Christian Discourse Against Male Homoeroticism<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In previous work on second-century Christian attitudes toward male homoeroticism (homosexuality) the Greek word paidofthoros was thought to mean pedophilia. Christians of the second century, however, used it to reject a very specific form of male homoeroticism common to Greco-Roman culture: that between males of differing social status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
