Since 1885 scholars have followed J.B. Lightfoot\u2019s trend of interpreting Ignatius\u2019 imagery in EPH 9:2 as \u201cprocessional.\u201d This paper reconsiders this trend and suggests that his imagery is more reflective of Jewish roots and less reflective of pagan processions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
