Bridging the Gap between Home and School<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to researchers such as Fred Jones and Rick Wormeli, building positive relationships between parents and teachers is an essential component of effective classroom management. For this presentation, I explore the practice of home visits in relation to building the positive parent-teacher relationships that Jones and Wormeli describe. I discuss the procedures of a home visit, costs that occur when implementing a home visit program, and the direct effect that home visits have on student academic performance in the classroom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
