5 year old Case Study-Observing Development

This paper aims to provide insight on the maturation of children during the pre-operational stage of development. This is a case study of a five year old boy who I have seen grow throughout his life from my viewpoint as his baby-sitter and tutor. The factors of development discussed in this paper are; cognitive, physical, identity, social, and moral. This case study takes a closer look at how we develop, and poses a few ponderable reasons why we grow to be how we are.

Minor Work Sample—Grammar

As a part of the student teaching program of NCU, I created a work sample of twelve lessons that I taught to a fifth grade class. These lessons were part of one grammar unit that introduced conjunctions and compound and complex sentences to the students. Along with each lesson plan and the materials required, my work sample also includes assessments of the students, the standards to be met by the students in each lesson, important information about the school environment, and several pieces of reflection on my own teaching experiences during the work sample.

How to use Both Art & Music in Classroom Management and Transitions

Classroom management is a part of any classroom. You can either invest the time before, or spend it consistently throughout the school year. Better to spend the time at the beginning of the year than waste it throughout the school year. We believe that you can integrate both music and art through the use of transitions. There are many ways to use both art and music and we plan to discuss many ways in which it can be done.

How Class Jobs Benefit Students

Student jobs are a major part of classroom management. Students will be encouraged to stay on task in order to earn their “pay check.” Student jobs allow students in all social-economic classes to learn the real life task of getting a job and having a “pay check.” Our presentation will cover these topics in hope of encouraging future and present teachers to form classroom jobs.
