Asthma
Asthma is a chronic, long-term inflammatory disease of the respiratory system that affects over twenty-five million people in the United States alone.2 Currently, it is unknown why & how Asthma begins in patients, however, the symptoms of Asthma are able to be controlled through maintenance & medication. When allergens come into contact with the body, the immune response triggers the smooth muscles surrounding the bronchiole tubes in the lungs to contract. This contraction tightens the airways in the lungs & complicates breathing. Asthma can be a severe disease if untreated.

Genre Criticism of Acceptance Speeches
Acceptance speeches come in many different forms. Actors have thanked God; the people who helped them achieve their goals or celebrated their excellence. Enough speeches have been heard to create a general format of what makes an acceptable speech. Lupita Nyong’o gave a speech that fell within certain parameters of “acceptance format” while still breaking new ground. Generic criticism will show how her speech stands out among the many & why it is so special. Not only to Hollywood Actors but to anyone who has a dream. Proving that “no matter where you’re from, you’re dreams are valid”.

Heat vs. Clippers Statistical Breakdown
While looking at two of the top NBA teams, Miami Heat & the LA Clippers, we will compare & contrast their numbers are heading into the post season. Some of the top categories are field goal percentage, free throw percentage, & three-point percentage. When the playoffs start they have a series, which includes seven games, another thing to look at would be if the three percentages that are listed above, differ whether they are playing at home or on the road. Also something to look at would be where they are getting most of their shots whether they are getting the ball inside, or successfully shooting the ball from behind the arc. This is key to compare to the field goal percentage to where the majority of their shots are coming from.

America Is Beautiful: A Fantasy Theme Criticism of Coca-Cola’s 2014 Super Bowl Commercial
Arguably, one of the most controversial commercials ran during the 2014 Super Bowl was Coca Cola’s commercial featuring a multilingual rendition of “America the Beautiful.” The advertisement highlights a diverse array of American faces playing, eating, & exploring all-American vistas. Using Ernest Bormann’s Fantasy Theme Criticism to analyze the widely talked about commercial, the presenter will address the message Coca-Cola creates in an attempt to unify our diverse nation: America is beautiful.

Group vs. Individual Persuasion: Increasing Student Chapel Attendance at Northwest Christian University
This research study was designed to provide a formal evaluation of the effectiveness of group & individual persuasion methods used on undergraduate freshman students at Northwest Christian University. This study offers empirical data for all those interested in the effectiveness of persuading students to attend University-mandated Chapel sessions. Raw data collection was used to identify whether methods of individual persuasion or group persuasion were more effective in increasing student attendance rates. It was predicted that methods of group persuasion would be more effective than methods of individual persuasion to increase Chapel attendance.

Airway Malacia
Airway malacia is a physiological disorder that most commonly effects infants & children. Malacia of the trachea, bronchi, & larynx involves softening of the cartilages that play an important role in structure & function. Typically, airway malacia disappears on its own as the cartilage hardens overtime. During the malacia, however, respiration & sometimes digestion can be negatively affected & special considerations & actions must be taken. Using multiple, credible sources, including websites, journals, articles & a college course textbook, we can take a look at what is involved medically, physiologically, & religiously in with airway malacia.

The creativity involved with students five or six years was astounding. This unit was not a pre-planned curriculum.

The Use of Minor Versus Major Caliber Pistols During United States Practical shooting Association Competition
In United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) competitions, each competitor has to choose whether to engage a minor or major caliber firearm in the contest. While a minor caliber gun will give the shooter the advantage of superior handling, the USPSA imposes more stringent point penalties for someone using a minor caliber than for someone using major caliber pistol. This paper analyses whether the minor or major caliber user will have the competitive edge by comparing the data collected from four competitors completing multiple standardized USPSA classifiers.

Relationships influence our lives; how we use those influences as motivation towards a goal is referred to as relational motivation. Research on relational motivation shows that motivations are increased when there are clear goals & a strong positive relationship. Relationships influence goal attainment by providing a support system. Research has shown that relationships motivate. Autonomy plays a big role in motivation. If autonomy is taken away, so is motivation. Understanding how relationships motivate adolescents could lead to better futures.

The Engagement of Students & their Success in School
Engagement in school is something that not many students view as important to their success in their classes. Recently, researchers have begun using a three-component model that includes relational, cognitive & behavioral engagement. It is important to look at all three of these components carefully to gain a better understanding of their effect on a student’s success. To test the hypothesis that higher GPA is correlated with higher engagement throughout all three areas of engagement in school, an Analysis of Variance will be used.

Cognitive Dissonance in the LGBT Christian
When faced with the tension that arises out of the conflict between the church & society on the issue of homosexuality, the homosexual Christian is faced with a proverbial dead-man’s land not only outwardly, but internally. This internal conflict between one’s sexuality & religious beliefs is operationally explored through the theory of cognitive dissonance which states that when at least two cognitions are seemingly counterintuitive, there is a drive to resolve the dissonance between them. Resolution strategies include leaving the church permanently, finding one that is accepting, or choosing to live with the dissonance.
